June 27th I had the opportunity to do something amazing for the first time since I became Children’s Director.  I got to lead Baby Dedication.  This time around we changed it up a bit.

We had a Baby Dedication Orientation that was held during our 2nd service on a Sunday morning several weeks before the actual dedication evening.  At least one parent was required to attend this class.  We talked about what Baby Dedication was, what our role as a church was, and what the role of the parent was in this whole process. Each family left with an assignment to be completed before the night of Baby Dedication.

On the night of Baby Dedication, each family was seated at a table surrounded by their friends and family.  Each table’s centerpiece was created specially for that child representing what I felt like the Lord had given me as I prayed for them.    Each family had opportunity to share a verse from the Bible they had picked out for their child, share a blessing they had written for their child and share their core values they were going to use to help guide their decisions as parents.

We ended the evening praying over the families and a word from our senior pastor, Pastor Bryan McGee.  It was an amazing time and I felt completely honored to be a part of such a special event in the lives of these families.

Meet our Kid’s ROCK worship team.  They began practicing tonight.  We had an amazing time.  They learned the movements, the words, and more importantly, we just had a good time worshipping our Saviour!

These kids are all a part of our oldest Kid’s ROCK class, Remix.  As a part of our vision, we want to teach our kids to use the gifts God has given them and then provide them opportunity to use those gifts for the Lord.  Our kids need to understand they don’t have to wait until they are all grown up to do something for God.  They are willing and able to contribute NOW!

If you see these kids on Sunday at ROCK church, thank them for stepping up, for using their gift and for serving the body of Christ!  I went into tonight thinking I would be teaching them about how to lead worship, I left realizing I received so much more than I gave!
