There are olots of exciting things happening in Kid’s ROCK every Sunday.  Let’s take a quick peek at what is on the horizon.

ROCK-A-Bye Babies - We recently moved to our new location and the volunteers have been using prayer cards.  When you drop your child off, make sure you let the nursery volunteers know what they can be praying for you and your family about.  They will pray for you during the week and then check back in with you on the following week.

Wee ROCK - We are starting a series entitled Jesus Helps Sick People.  The children will be learning from Luke 5:17-26 for the next four weeks.  Keep checking back for more information on the lesson’s they are learning.

ROCK Stars - ROCK Stars just started a new series entitled “Jesus Shows Me How to Act”.  Last week was their first lesson and they learned about The Farmer who sowed his seed.  They each planted a seed to take home.  We’d love to see pictures of those seeds as they sprout.  Bring pictures or the seeds in to show the teachers as they progress.

Club ROCK & Remix - Just finished a series about being Agents of Change.  They learned about how they can change their family, their community and their world.  This week we are starting a new series called Super U.  They will continue to build on the idea of being a world changer by learning how world changers think and live.  They will learn about Choosing wisely, Trusting God, Living life on purpose, hanging tough, and taking risk for God.  If Club ROCK kids have superhero costumes, let them wear them…we are going to have a blast learning that God is our SuperHero!

We have some very exciting changes coming to Kid’s ROCK.  Beginning January 3rd, Kid’s ROCK will be based on grade level instead of age.  We will also be relocating some of our classes.

What will that mean for your children?

It will mean that, starting in January, kids will move to the class that is appropriate for their grade level and instead of changing classes throughout the year, our kids will move on a designated Sunday in the summer.

What are the grade levels of the classes?

ROCK-a-Bye Babies & ROCK Climbers - Birth through 3 years old
Wee ROCK - 3 year olds (if they are 3 on or before August 31st of current year)
ROCK Stars - Pre-K (4 years old on or before August 31st of current year) & Kindergarten
Club ROCK - 1st through 3rd grade
ReMix - 4th & 5th grade
Double Take - Double service kids 1st through 5th grade
Flipside (on Wednesday nights) - Middle and High School

Will my child have to move backwards if they are already in a particular class?

No child will be required to move backwards.  If they are already in a class, they can stay in that class, but they will stay in that class until it is time to move up to the next grade level.

What classes will be moving?

The nursery and nursing mothers room will be relocated to the former Outreach kitchen and childcare offices area.
Check-In will be located in several locations for better convenience.

Why change to grade levels?

This will allow kids to build deeper more personal relationships with teachers and classmates.
Kids will move as a class so the fears of moving to a new class will be lessened by the fact that they are moving with their friends.

Can we help?

Yes!  We need everyone with kids to fill out a new registration card.  There will also be lots of painting, building, data entry, and moving that has to take place in the next few weeks, email us for specifics.

Kid’s ROCK has some of the most amazing volunteers.  Today I had the opportunity to meet with Kid’s ROCK and ReMix volunteers and share with them some exciting things coming.  So this means they spent  most of their day giving to ROCK Church.  They came, served in their area, attended a service, and then stayed for what turned into a long, but very productive meeting.  Ever wonder what makes people do that?

Don’t you want to be a part of this?
